Lina!
Calling my house! No one picked up );
This is where we sat down and chatted while I ate my burger
Me and Lina!
Hello! I am back so soon. Yesterday I was in a big hurry because my friend was waiting and we wanted to go explore the city. I am at another Internet Cafe now- there seems to be a lot around the city. Good thing!
Today started out quite traumatic. I'll start with last night- last night when I went to bed I set my alarm clock for 9am, but I thought 'I don't even know why I'm setting this since I couldn't sleep the night before. Ill probably wake up at 4 in the morning again.' But I set it anyways. II woke up once in the night, probably at 4am but this time I was able to fall asleep again. THAT is where the trouble started. I was planning on getting up at 9am because I was going to meet my cousin Lina at 10am in front of the school I am staying at. She is living in Ireland as an architect in the city of Waterford, about 3 hours away to the south of Dublin. Her bus was to get in at 10am and I was to meet her. Ok so then when I woke up this morning I checked my watch and it said '1:15' and I thought it meant in the morning but then I realized that it was sunny outside. So I checked my cell phone (thats my alarm clock for Europe) and it also said 1:15pm!!! I almost had a heart attack! I jumped out of bed and ran to my roommates room and she was GONE!!! So then I threw on the clothes from last night and ran out to the information center at the school. I had a note under my door saying that I had a guest waiting for me. When I got there I frantically asked if anyone had seen my cousin and they said she had been there twice but had just left. So then I ran out trying to find here (as I was a full 3 hours late for our meeting!) but I couldn't find her. Luckily I was able to call her cell phone and after calling a few times I was finally able to get connected with her!!! Oh man, I was feeling so low this morning. I couldn't believe I had slept in! I slept 13 hours last night! Thats a record for me, for sure. Man what a horrible time to be breaking sleeping records when I should be meeting up with family in another country!
But anyways, when we finally met up we had so much fun together. We talked about all the updates on our family amd what we have been up to. My cousin Lina is living in Ireland with her husband. They are both architects and both are from Mexico. I was great to be able to speak Spanish with her, but then I got a little confused because I wanted to speak Spanish to the Irish, too. I guess I just always assume that if Im not in the US then I should be speaking Spanish. Luckily I didn't follow through with my instinct.
Anyways, we hung out and when to the shopping area. I bought a hairdryer and straightener! I'm so glad. I got it at this cool store called 'Argos'. When I asked around for suggestions for where to buy a hairdryer an Irish man told me to go there- but I had to ask him to spell it for me because I couldn't understand his accent! Haha. Hopfully I''ll get used to the accents. Anyways, the store was not like any I had ever been to. It had everything you could imagine. You had to look through the catalogs they had chained to the walls and then write down the catalog number and then after you paid for it they would bring the items out of storage. I got the cheapest dryer and the cheapest ceramic straightener that I could find. Hopefully they work out fine.
For now, I just said good bye to my cousin as she had to take a bus back home. We walked by a beautiful river right before we parted ways. I don't know the name of it but I see it on every corner on the post cards! Ha. Right before we went out separate ways we called home and left a message at my house. Sadly no one picked up but hopefully my family will be happy to hear our voices.
Please leave comments if you can. In response to Lizzy- the little critter on the previous blog is I think... some kind of wild animal that lived in the national park we visited yesterday. They had quite a few animals that we stuffed and up for display at the visitor center at the park. (: When I saw the picture I said to myself 'Welcome to Ireland'. I don't know why... that was just my first thought. So I put it up first on my blog!

STEPHANIE! You need some comments on here so HERE I AM! TO THE RESCUE!!! I am so happy that you made it to europe safely, WHEW! And I loooove your photos! That's so cool that you can upload them onto this site so quickly, way to go computer savvy MAMA!!!! (: Crazy about the store with the catalogs.....aye! Although I have to say, it is tough for me not to get envious that you are all the way over in my native homeland, but AS LONG as you give my best regards to the fam, I will restrain from forcing you to be DUBLIN OVER FROM JACK ATTACK! hahaha jk, ok so that was a bit of a stretch...but I loved how you tied the dublin in to your other catchy phrase so there was my lame attempt at it, hehe. THE GOOD NEWS about the whole 'meeting cousin late' fiasco is that she wasnt super angry or anything. I'm sure she understood considering you'd just arrived and have been busy woman to the MAX with adjusting to dif time zones, new school, new ppl, new LOCATION....thats a whole heap of a lot right off the bat. I'm proud of ya stephers!
OH GOOD NEWS I forgot to tell you earlier on the phone, dad and I went looking for new cars for me!!!!! Exciting, eh? It's for my commute to school. We're looking at either ford focus's (NEW ones, hehe), used toyota corollas, or used honda civics....all 2003 or newer. And all 4door sedans.
